Breaking Bad Creator Says He Could See Someone Eventually Pitch A Sequel Series

Breaking Bad – Vince Gilligan, the creator of the acclaimed television series Breaking Bad, has said that he could see someone eventually trying to pitch a sequel series. However, he has also made it clear that he has no interest in being involved in such a project.

Gilligan told Variety, “I could see someone trying to pitch a sequel series someday.” But I’m not interested in it. I believe Breaking Bad finished magnificently, and I don’t want anyone to try to sully that legacy.”

Gilligan went on to clarify that while he is not averse to other individuals working in the Breaking Bad universe, he wants to be clear that he is not engaged in any way. “I’m not going to stop someone else from making a Breaking Bad sequel series,” he remarked. But I simply do not wish to be a part of it.”

Gilligan’s comments come amid rumors that AMC is considering a Breaking Bad sequel series. However, the network has not yet made any announcements about such a project.

Why a Breaking Bad Sequel Series Might Not Be a Good Idea

There are a few reasons why a Breaking Bad sequel series might not be a good idea. First, the original series ended perfectly. Walter White’s story was wrapped up in a satisfying way, and it is difficult to imagine how a sequel could do it justice.

Second, the Breaking Bad universe is already very well-developed. Better Call Saul, the prequel series to Breaking Bad, has fleshed out the backstories of many of the original show’s characters. It is difficult to imagine what new stories a sequel series could tell.

Finally, there is always the risk that a sequel series could tarnish the legacy of the original show. If it is not done well, it could leave fans feeling disappointed and disillusioned with the Breaking Bad universe.

What If Walter Jr. Were to Become a Crime Lord?

In an interview with Variety, Gilligan also stated that he could “pretty much guarantee” that a sequel series following Walter Jr. as a criminal lord would not be of interest to him.

This is an intriguing concept, but it is laden with possible pitfalls. For one thing, making Walter Jr. a credible criminal lord would be impossible. He is a totally different character from his father, and it is difficult to envision him succeeding in the criminal underworld.

Furthermore, such a successor series would most likely be dark and depressing. Walter Jr. would face the same issues that his father did, such as violence, drugs, and moral degeneration. It is not clear whether fans would be interested in watching such a show.

Overall, it’s hard to determine whether a sequel series is a smart concept. There are several potential stumbling blocks, but there is also the possibility that it will be a fantastic show. Only time will tell if AMC decides to pursue such a project.
